Dry skin? Here are three tips that can help:
1. Place a vaporizer in your bedroom. A vaporizer can be easier to maintain than a humidifier and is usually a lot cheaper. This simple machine replenishes moisture levels in your room. How to maximize its effect? Moisturize your face and body with a lotion that has humectants. How do humectants work? They draw water to your skin! Yay! Just what you need. Some popular examples to look for in a moisturizer are: glycerin, hyaluronic acid, and propylene glycol, sodium pca.
2. Keep your body lotion in the shower. Yes, sometimes you have to trick yourself. Who wants to step out of a warm shower in the winter time and put lotion on a still moist body? Not me! I use a little trick my Dad learned in the Navy. I wring out my washcloth and use it to get rid of all the excess water. Then I apply my lotion (using Bubalina right now) while my skin is just moist, not dripping wet. Blot dry with a towel. Then I step out. This extra step of moisturizing only ads an extra 90 seconds to my regimen.
3. Replenish water reserves! In general you want to not only drink plenty of filtered water (half your body weight is the general guideline), but water packed fruits and vegetables.
